Over The Top - Road Bike Event 2012

October 5-7, 2012

Over the Top Road Bike Event

Round Trip: Blue River to Oakridge via Aufderheide Drive

New Epic Road Bike Ride on the fabled Aufderheide Scenic Hwy in Oregon, considered to be Oregon's most beautiful scenic hwys.  The "Over the Top" road bike event is a multi-day road bike experience.  Just named one of Oregon's 10 Best Rides!

Join us for the First Annual Over the Top round trip road bike event between Oakridge and Blue River on the West Cascades Scenic Byway, Aufderheide Drive, also known as, FS Road 19. This spectacular early fall ride between two rural communities is fully supported and destined to become a favorite. Enjoy hearty meals, friendly supportive aid stations all along the route, and small town hospitality. Aufderheide Hwy boasts magnificent scenery, very low traffic, water features, old growth forest, hot springs, and enough elevation to make it a challenge! Rest your eyes on the wild and scenic North Fork of the Middle Fork Willamette River and old growth groves of Douglas Fir, (200 to 500 years old). Enjoy rest stops at campgrounds built by the Civilian conservation Corps in the 1930’s.

Half of the riders start in Oakridge going north on Road 19, the other half start in Blue River, going south bound. North bound riders stay in Blue River at the end of day one, and vice-versa for the south bound riders. The next day all riders return to their respective starting points to finish one of the best road rides in the state. Per day mileage is approximately 70. Sign up early to reserve your spot.

Participation will be strictly limited to 50 riders on each side. Spots are expected to fill quickly.  You should register early to reserve your spot.

Registration Fee: $299

Includes 2 nights lodging, luggage service, ride, ride support, meals and after ride party with complimentary beer and wine from local wineries and micro-brews.  Couples will be lodged in a private room, singles will be housed in men's or women's European hostel style rooms (option to upgrade to private rooms may be available).
