A Helfrich Outfitter

Rafting on the McKenzie River

Relax! Recharge! Rediscover!

Relax in the McKenzie River Valley.

Recharge with McKenzie River energy.

Rediscover your child-like wonder and joy.

The McKenzie River is beautiful!  Its waters, clear and cold.  We can easily imagine the river flowing from its glacial and subterranean sources.  While we splash on its surface, fish race beneath us.  Its scenery is lush and green.  We see the forest towering over us and in its trees, eagles, ospreys and hawks.  The McKenzie River experience is complete ... every sense is treated (sight, sound, smell, touch and even taste) ... and the McKenzie River experience can be yours!

It isn't far from Eugene to our meeting places on the McKenzie River to start your rafting or fishing adventure with us.  We offer half-day and full-day trips and take care of every detail, so you can simply enjoy the experience.

Rafting On our half-day trips, we provide a mid-trip snack.  You have three choices for your lunch on the full-day trips.  We help with the shuttle and provide parking passes.  Splash gear and warm jackets are provided if it's cool.  Our equipment is top-notch.

We also offer Fishing Guide Service  All gear and tackle is provided, but you may bring a favorite rod, if you have one. Our half-day fishing trips are about four hours long.  You are treated to a riverside fish-fry with some of the morning's catch on our 7-8 hour, full-day trips.  We will meet you at our take out, give you a parking pass, if needed, and drive you up to the launch.

Our guides are experienced and conscientious, and their enthusiasm for the river and the great out-of-doors is contagious.  Come, join us!

Our Resort

Our 13 private, fully-equipped cabins perch on the banks of the emerald green McKenzie River and glacier-fed Marten Creek. Cabins vary in size to easily accommodate from 2 to 8 people...ideal for family vacations, reunions, retreats, workshops, or quiet get-aways.

Activities

We provide a cozy home base for people who like to fish, hike, mountain bike, raft, boat, swim, bird watch, kayak, play volleyball and tennis or simply commune with nature. Also play golf at nearby championship Tokatee golf course.

Long recognized as one of the country's premier trout streams, the McKenzie River provides the serious and not-so-serious angler exceptional opportunities to test skill with fly and lure. Play tennis on the Wayfarer's top-quality tennis court. World class mountain bike trails are nearby so you can enjoy the scenery on a single track trail as well.
